Near to the wild heart of life

I just really like lots of stuff and I post it all here.

Some of the things that I like: Harry Potter, movies, Downton Abbey, quotes, books, things that are British, random things that make me laugh, random TV shows, The Hunger Games, Colorado, music, romantic leading men, and other fun pop-culture things.

I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature. My attachments are always excessively strong.

Elvis and Priscilla Presley in Hawaii, May 1968.

If you think about what the world would have been like without an Elvis, then you have to think ‘What kind of world would the Elvis world have been like without a Priscilla?’ —Joan Esposito

Life Advice from Harper Lee
From Letters of Note:

A young fan of ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ named Jeremy wrote to Harper Lee in 2006, and asked for a signed photo. He didn’t get one, but instead received this lovely piece of advice from the author that is far more precious.

Harper Lee announced today - on her 88th birthday — that ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ will now be released as an audiobook and e-book.
Happy Birthday, Harper!
